Position:  Geotechnical Staff Professional/ Engineer Intern (EIT)

We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Geotechnical Staff Professional/ Engineer Intern (EIT) to be based in our Baton Rouge, Louisiana location.



Position responsibilities include coordination of field explorations, field classification of soil samples, assisting with engineering analyses and design calculations, and preparation of basic proposals and reports. Position will work under the supervision of a Licensed Engineer. Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong technical skills and work ethic, a positive attitude, and possess the ability to work as a team player.



Staff Geotechnical Engineer (EIT) Qualifications:

  • BS (MS preferred) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required;
  • E.I.T. certification preferred;
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Geotechnical field exploration and laboratory experience, preferred
  • Experience with soft soils or experience with coastal protection and restoration projects;
  • Experience working with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), and the United States Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District (USACE); preferred;
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn commercial software applications;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Occasional overnight out of town travel and the ability to work outside normal business hours required;
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
  • Occasional lifting required: 40 to 50 lbs.
