Position: Environmental / Industrial Hygiene Technician

We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Environmental / Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

 

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Certified Industrial Hygienists, Licensed Engineers and Geologists and Registered Scientists. The individual will be responsible for performance of environmental and industrial hygiene projects including asbestos assessments and abatement monitoring, remediation system operations and maintenance, hazardous building materials sampling, overseeing soil boring and monitor well installations, collecting groundwater and soil/sediment samples for laboratory analyses, conducting site inspections/surveys, and data reduction. The majority of the time will be spent in the field in all weather conditions and can be physically demanding.   

  

Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work as a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and budgets. Periodic travel may be necessary on a project by project basis.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Two years relevant experience;
  • AS or BS degree in engineering, geology, or related sciences preferred;
  • Experience conducting environmental and hazardous building materials sampling;
  • Experience conducting operations and maintenance of soil and groundwater treatment systems, or related experience (e.g. plumbing, motor repairs) preferred;
  • OSHA 1910.120 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training;
  • North Carolina Asbestos Air Monitor Certification Preferred or the ability to obtain certification [Initial requirements include NIOSH 582 course (40 hours) and Asbestos Supervisor course (40 hours). Annual refresher training (8 hours) required for Supervisor course].
  • North Carolina Asbestos Inspector Preferred or the ability to obtain certification [Initial 3-day EPA-approved inspector class and pass exam. Annual refresher training (4 hours) is required].
  • Ability to start work immediately;
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
