Position:  Geotechnical/Civil Engineering Project Manager

Consistently ranked in the top 100 of ENR's Top 500 Design Firms, our markets are diverse and include transportation, energy, water/wastewater, commercial development, industry, healthcare, education and government. We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Geotechnical/Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee.

 

 

Candidates should have engineering experience with geotechnical investigations, dams, earthen embankments, coal combustion residual (CCR) disposal facilities including dry and wet storage, demolition of existing fossil plants, compliance requirements for our power generating clients. Technical proficiency in field exploration and laboratory testing programs for geotechnical investigations, dewatering of existing ash ponds and construction management.

 

 

The position requires experience in geotechnical engineering in relation to dams, and management of large construction projects for energy-based clients. Strong working relationships with environmental regulatory agencies in Tennessee required; similar relationships in surrounding states would be a plus.  General responsibilities include construction cost estimating, specification preparation, construction site inspections, proposal and report preparation, schedule and budget management, and communication with internal and external clients.   

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS (or higher) degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
  • Professional Engineer license; if not in Tennessee, must apply for Tennessee license within 6 months of starting;
  • Demonstrated business development skills;
  • 8+ years of related experience;
  • 5+ years in Project Manager role;
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communications skills with peers and clients;
  • Willingness to travel on temporary assignments.

 

 

This is a full-time position with excellent pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
