Position: Air Quality Engineer

S&ME is an employee-owned engineering firm providing a wide variety of professional engineering and science consulting. Consistently ranked in the top 100 of ENR's Top 500 Design Firms, our markets are diverse and include transportation, energy, water/wastewater, commercial development, industry, healthcare, education and government. We recruit top talent and are currently seeking an Air Quality Engineer to join our environmental services team in Columbia, Greenville, or Spartanburg, South Carolina.

 

Professional experience should include, but not be limited to, having demonstrated knowledge of various aspects of air permitting and regulatory compliance for commercial, municipal, and industrial clients. Principal responsibilities include management of routine to complex air permitting and air-related compliance projects. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated established relationships with multiple state and federal regulatory agencies. Additional experience with industrial wastewater and other industrial permitting facets is preferred.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Engineering registration or ability to ability to acquire registration in SC;
  • In-depth knowledge of State and Federal regulatory programs air-related to industrial and manufacturing facilities;
  • Regulatory coordination:
    • Emission Inventories;
    • Construction and operating permits;
    • Air Dispersion Modeling;
    • Air Permit required Reporting;
    • Wastewater Controls and Permitting;
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple project assignments;
  • Client management and development; and
  • Willingness to cross train in other environmental compliance arenas.

 

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
