S&ME is an employee-owned engineering firm that provides civil, geotechnical, environmental, planning, landscape architecture, survey and construction services. Consistently ranked in the top 100 of ENR's Top 500 Design Firms, our markets are diverse and include transportation, energy, water/wastewater, commercial development, industry, healthcare, education and government. We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time administrative assistant/biller to join our team in Duluth, Georgia.  The individual will be responsible for the following:



  • Daily use of Metafield, and/or other field and laboratory information management systems, for reporting of testing results and field observations;
  • Daily communication and coordination with contractors, clients, and staff in support of field activities;
  • Routine entry and management of data in BST (financial software);
  • Office-based support for professional, and technical staff;
  • Preparation of engineering-related letters, reports, spreadsheets, proposals and qualification submittals;
  • Coordination of conventional and electronic document distribution to clients;
  • Maintenance of project document controls of conventional and electronic files and records;
  • Development of relationships with peers in the local engineering and construction communities through participation in local professional organizations such as (but not limited to) the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and the Associated General Contractors (AGC).



The successful candidate must execute responsibilities in a professional and confidential manner, have positive interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, able to work independently, be detail oriented, organized and able to perform and coordinate multiple tasks.




  • High school diploma/GED required;
  • AS/AA degree in Administrative Office Technology or related field preferred;
  • A minimum of 3 years' of administrative experience supporting management and professional staff required;
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language;
  • Experience in engineering or construction setting preferred;
  • Experience with utilizing BST financial software preferred;
  • Proficient in math and having an understanding of accounting principles will be considered a plus;
  • Proficient with computers and electronic file organization;
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel software;
  • Proficient with PDF and electronic document development.



This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
