S&ME, Inc. is a leading design, engineering, environmental and multi-disciplined professional services firm that responds to their clients with innovative and sustainable solutions. S&ME is currently seeking a Department / Administrative Assistant to join our Environmental Business Unit in the Charleston, South Carolina office. This position is open to both full-time and part-time candidates.

 

 

This individual will be responsible for providing project and administrative support to Project Managers (PMs) by organizing and administering project activities in cooperation with and under the direction of the PMs. Primary responsibilities include proposal and project setup, invoicing and collections efforts, and communication with clients. Attention to detail, organization, and effective communication are key for this role, as this individual will be responsible for maintaining project-related records, providing regular updates to project managers, and communicating directly with clients regarding project specific billing as well as responding to any requests for information. This position also includes other general administrative duties, as required.

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or HS diploma/GED and the equivalent of 5+ years' experience;
  • Experience within the Architecture / Construction / Engineering (A/E/C) industry preferred;
  • Billing and receivables experience preferred;
  • Advanced computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, powerpoint, and graphics;
  • Knowledge of BST or other accounting platforms preferred;
  • Working knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lump sum, not-to-exceed, and how they are applied in the billing process;
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and respond to changes in priorities;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organization skills; and
  • Strong service orientation.
