S&ME, Inc., a leading multi-disciplined design, engineering, environmental professional services firm that responds to their clients with innovative, sustainable solutions, is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Staff Professional in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

This individual will work under the supervision of a Project Manager in a team environment and will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of site civil construction documents and related tasks for projects that may include site civil for commercial and industrial development, dams, stream restoration, transportation, and landfills. Project tasks performed under the supervision of a Project Manager may include:

  • Preparation of due diligence/site analysis;
  • Preparing engineering or technical computations and preparing design solutions;
  • Preparation of conceptual/schematic site plans including layout, grading and drainage plans, earthwork calculations, stormwater management, and utility plans;
  • Preparation of construction documents including demolition plans, layout plans, erosion control plans, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management, utilities, site details, transportation improvements, and project cost estimates/analysis, etc.;
  • Preparation of reports;
  • Field data collection and characterization;
  • Observation of construction or site work.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • A BS or MS in Civil Engineering or closely related field;
  • EIT or securing of EIT within one (1) year of beginning employment;
  • 0-3 year experience in civil engineering or related field is required;
  • Design phase service experience preferred;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required, hydraulic design software preferred;
  • Well organized, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
  • Candidate will have good communication skills, both written, oral and listening, and good interpersonal skills as well as ability to work and interface well in a collaborative project team environment.

 

 

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
