Position: Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

S&ME, Inc., a geoprofessional and design consulting firm, is seeking an administrative assistant for our Raleigh, North Carolina location. The individual will be responsible for the following:


  • Office-based support for professional, and technical staff;
  • Daily communication and coordination with contractors, clients, and staff in support of field activities;
  • Preparation of engineering-related letters, reports, spreadsheets, proposals and qualification submittals;
  • Routine entry and management of data in BST (financial software);
  • Daily use of Metafield, and/or other field and laboratory information management systems, for reporting of testing results and field observations;
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) management, including communication with both S&ME and client Project Managers, as well as client Accounts Payable representatives;
  • Coordination of conventional and electronic document distribution to clients;
  • Maintenance of project document controls of conventional and electronic files and records.



The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate should also possess an understanding of professionalism and tact, relative to interaction with co-workers and clients.




  • High school diploma/GED required;
  • AS/AA degree in Administrative Office Technology or related field, preferred;
  • 1-3 years' of administrative experience supporting management and professional staff required;
  • Experience in engineering or construction setting, preferred;
  • Proficient with computers and electronic file organization;
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel software;
  • Proficient with PDF and electronic document development;
  • Experience with, or able to learn, financial software (BST experience preferred).



This is a part-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
